This project with a children’s hospital focused on research and conception. It targeted a concept for the optimization of the processes in the burns unit for children. A digital application is supposed to support the communication between doctors, nurses, parents and children in- and outside the hospital.

A digital app is supposed to ease the utterly difficult treatment time for children with skin burns by taking all the different parties involved in the treatment into account. The personal contact between doctors and children / parents should not be replaced yet augmented with an additional tool. Children (depending on the age), parents, nurses and doctors have access to the platform and can gain insight in both general and personal information about the treatment. The app could assist doctors and nurses to have the overview of the treatment and control the medication. Furthermore they can communicate and interact with other doctors regarding the specific case of the patient. Parents and children could have another channel of information of the actual treatment and be even more involved at any time. Simple visualizations on the platform can make communication also visually more comprehensible which is important for the interaction between medical professionals and children / parents.
